Let's get started!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1/2 kg of mushrooms, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

COOK WITH US:

  1. When preparing the sautéed mushrooms, the first step is to clean your mushrooms removing the soil with a dry cloth. You can also use a brush if you have one. If they are very dirty, you can run them quickly under water, but be careful, mushrooms absorb a lot of water and you don't want to lose in flavour!

  2. Cut off the earthy part of the stalk with a small knife.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt.

  4. Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and slightly browned.

  6. Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

OUR TIPS FOR YOU:

If you want to take your dish to the next level, here are a few tips to make it even better:

  1. Use a variety of mushrooms: Instead of using just one type of mushroom, try using a variety such as shiitake, cremini, and oyster mushrooms. This will add depth and complexity to the dish.

  2. Add wine: Adding a splash of white wine to the skillet while cooking the mushrooms can add a delicious depth of flavour.

  3. Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs such as thyme, rosemary, or sage can add a gourmet touch to the dish. Simply chop the herbs and sprinkle them over the mushrooms before serving.

  4. Serve with crusty bread: Toasted crusty bread is the perfect accompaniment to sautéed mushrooms. Simply brush sliced bread with olive oil and garlic toast in the oven until golden brown. Sautéed mushrooms are a simple yet delicious dish that can be elevated to the next level with a few simple tips.

Try this recipe at home and experiment with different types of mushrooms and seasonings to create a dish that is both easy and impressive.
